The Chronicles
March 2010
Salutations dear readers and fellow Laurentian neighbors,
Ooooooooo, dearest readers, did you know that not all e-mails are worthy of being forwarded to ALL your family, friends, acquaintances and anyone else you might think of?
In February of 2008, I wrote an article explaining why it is important to learn how to clean e-mails containing good jokes before Forwarding them, thereby preventing the spread of e-mail viruses. You can refer to http://www.monamilordi.com/english/reviews/2008/08-02.html for a refresh.
There are other kinds of e-mails that are regularly received that many find they cannot resist sending on to everyone in their address book. These are known as “E-mail Hoaxes”. They often tell us not to open such-and-such e-mail or else! I cannot stress enough to PLEASE VERIFY THE VALIDITY of any of these e-mails before passing it on as their very purpose, most of the time, is to help spread viruses.
There are a couple of good Web sites where you can copy and paste the subject line of a potential e-mail hoax in order to search their database and confirm that the content of the e-mail is true and therefore worthy of Forwarding.

It is worth taking the time to really look over these sites and to use them religiously. Rather than mindlessly spreading false information, you will become an informed e-mail user.
Take good care of yourselves,
